I will never agree with this.  It’s illogical.  I’m not buying orange juice, bacon and cats.

I’m buying orange juice, bacon, and cats.  The bacon and cats are not contextually related.  Nor am I informing the bacon and cats that I am buying orange juice.  That would just be stupid.
